The Gartell family now own The Sun Inn with the cooking being taken care of by Peter and Dominic and the front of the house by Jean and Sally. Peter has been a well respected chef for many years and has run several successful restaurants. He has been invited to compete in the Chef Potter awards and is a regular demonstrator at both Ludlow and Narbeth food festivals. Dominic his son, now works in the kitchen following in his fathers footsteps. Peter - a celebrated chef, who originates from Cheltenham, and has over 40 years in the business, working his way up from breakfast chef at the Carlton Hotel to Head Chef at the Golden Valley, Cheltenham, plus a successful period at The Clive, Ludlow. He and his wife Jean also owned Gartells Restaurant in Gloucester for 7 years, and moved to the Sun Inn in November 2006.   Jean - also hails from Cheltenham, originally training as a couture dressmaker, and later moved on to specialist garden design. With Peter, she has developed further by running front-of-house and bars at the Golden Valley Hotel, and their own restaurant in Gloucester. Jean has designed the interiors for the Sun Inn's bar and beautiful restaurant, where you will find her serving Peter's delicious menus.   Dominic - is Jean and Peter's son, married to Sally. Dominic has recently joined the family business, and has an electronics engineering background. He is currently training to follow in his father's footsteps in the kitchen, specialising in pastries and desserts.   Sally - also from Cheltenham, joined the family business to run front-of-house. Sally was a ballet, tap and modern- dance teacher in Hereford and Cheltenham, and stills keeps up with her teaching once a week. You will see her smiling face behind the bar.
