The Sun Inn is located in a prominent position on top of a rise in the village of Marton on the B4386, the main road between Shrewsbury and Montgomery. It is constructed mainly of stone and is believed to be about three hundred years old. It sits roughly within a 15 mile circle of the towns of Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Newtown, Knighton, Lulow, Craven Arms and Church Stretton, in a beautiful part of the country and well worth visiting especially for walkers as we are situated close to Offas Dyke trail.

  From the North
If you are travelling from the Shrewsbury area you will need to find the B4386 and at the A5 junction it will be signposted to Montgomery. You will travel through some small villages until you come to Marton. Marton is about 13 miles from the A5 junction. You enter the village on a right hand bend and proceed up the hill and you will find the Sun Inn on the left opposite the shop.

  From the South
If you are travelling from the Welshpool area you will need to take the A458 to the main A483 roundabout where you need to take the road A490 to Forden. On the other side of Forden take the left turn to Churchstoke A490 and carry on for about 1 mile until the left turn for Marton. The village is about 2 1/2 miles and after entering the village itself, you will find the Sun Inn on the right.
If you are coming from the Montgomery/Chirbury area just take the B4386 north right into Marton where you will find us on the right hand side.
